Enchanted [Review]

I have no shame with “girly” movies. My rule is, if it’s considered good, I’ll watch it, I don’t need need to see it with a girl so I can blame it on her (“She dragged me to go see it, guys“)

But the truth is, I can be slow to see a standard girly movie, so it’s not that I am ashamed to get to it, just lazy about it. In my defense, it’s just harder to get excited about seeing certain types of movies, and girly ones are one type. I’m also not super excited about gory horror flicks, but again, if it’s considered good, I’ll watch it.

VM. SX100 SY140 Enchanted [Review] Back to the main topic, Enchanted (I did watch it with Thuy, but I told her to come see the movie, not the other way around) is a fairly tale film with Amy Adams, James Marsden, and Patrick Dempsey. The movie’s tagline is “The real world and the animated world collide”, and that’s a good description. Take a Disney fairly tale movie, like Snow White or Cinderella, and combine it with a 13 Going on 30 feel (humor, the fun, the innocence in the main character) and Enchanted is the result. Literally a mix of live-action and animation, the plot (starts as basic Princess and Prince Charming) takes Amy Adams’ and James Marsden’s cartoon characters as stereotypical Disney fair tale characters and pushes them to the live-action real world, where life, as of course, we know, is not so simple.

My sister loved the movie, and so did I.

As with any good Disney film, or any Disney cartoon, music is a big emphasis in the movie, and it’s done very well. Amy Adams is fabulous in her lead role, extremely charming, and she just makes people feel happy, not only the other characters in the movie, but the audience as well

I gave Enchanted a 9/10 on IMDB.
