Starcraft 2 Pwnage (Ownage) (I Win)

My best friend Mike somehow conned (I don’t even know how to spell that) someone into giving him a Starcraft 2 Beta invite, and he immediately started creating a ruckus, beating people left and right. Also, he’s Korean if that gives you any clue into his Starcraft/Warcraft heritage.

I, on the other hand, have absolutely no real-time-strategy skills, nor any strategy skills for that matter, in real-time or real life-time.

Brian Kuh is an even bigger douche because he’s Billy Mitchell’s willing homosexual sex-slave.

Those stories and more on….The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters!

I like movies. I like video games. I like documentaries. All 3 combined = The King of Kong, a look at classic arcade video gaming competition, specifically the battle over the world scoring record for Donkey Kong in which you’re introduced to guys like Mitchell, Kuh, and Steve Wiebe, the good guy of this story.

I knew who Billy Mitchell was before watching this movie. I also knew about Twin Galaxies, the gaming scorekeeper for classic games. This documentary is about Mitchell, the record holder for Donkey Kong, but more so, Mitchell the character. It’s also about Steve Wiebe, who has to battle and Mitchell the (ego) symbol more than he actually battles the man in his quest to gain the record.

It’s a very good movie, and while I can never be sure if a documentary is slanted right, Mitchell sure comes out of it looking like a jackass, Kuh is just a buffoon, and Wiebe is just a normal guy you want to root for.

I don’t know why I have to even diss him in this post, but you just have to hope that Kuh has a moment where he remembers he’s human (“I think therefore I am”?) and doesn’t have to be a boob. Watch the movie and you will surely agree with me.

I gave it a 8/10 on IMDB, and I highly recommend it if stories about video games interest you at all.

Bye Bye Brightcove Too?

Beginning December 18, 2007, we plan to end support of direct consumer uploads to Brightcove.TV.  As a result, you will not be able to upload new videos to Brightcove.TV after December 17, 2007. But videos you have already uploaded to Brightcove.TV will remain available on the site and through your Brightcove.TV channel.  Videos you have embedded in other sites and blogs will also continue to play.

If you have a Brightcove Platform or Network account, which means you use the Brightcove Console, then you will still have the option to promote videos on Brightcove.TV.

Brightcove.TV will continue to be a guide to great video from Brightcove media and business partners.  The site will have new videos added to it daily from these partners and these videos can be saved as favorite videos in your channel.

Well, I wasn’t planning on this, but I guess I have to switch to YouTube to host all my random videos. Not sure when I’ll actually do it, I should be able to access this content for a while more, at least until Brightcove dies completely.

Too bad, I really liked the video quality there. YouTube also has a batch uploader now, which is really convenient.

Made a new video to show off my room, got some of the things I brought back from the US framed, like:

  • Drawing my mom made for me
  • And1 Tour Poster
  • And1 Autographs from E3 2005
  • TMNT-skinned XBox
  • Various Sports Memorabilia, like my McFarlane J-Rich figure and Upper Deck Bobblehead. Also, got a gameday program from this year’s Warriors’ playoff run.
